DEAD BARBARIANS can't kick UN-HOLY ASS!

Taking stock of last night's AWESOME IDEA-MARKET action, with special attention to the spin-jobbing that went on, I have to say we may have just experienced the bottom of the downslide caused by LEFTIES, since FDR at least. For my "EXTREMISM in the cause of FREEDOM is no vice!" open-eyed attitude, it was a wonder to flip around and catch the words of various people. The disparity could hardly be more without actual physical combat occuring, it seemed to me.

In the war of ideas it was gratifying to see some of my clear-seeing sources able to have the time to get across what they have come to realize, epitomized by David Horowitz---despite the insanity of Chris Matthew's ALWAYS boorish and interrupting actions, he actually had some periods as long as 30 seconds to string together his thoughts.

Remember ZARDOZ?

If you've never seen the movie Zardoz with Sean Connery, I highly recommend it as more than a science fiction thriller. I've used it many times to connect with some hot 'news', in the past, and last night as I watched the fiesta-like show with Arnold and Maria, backed by the Schrivers, another analogy popped into mind. In Zardoz, sometime in the far future, 'civilized' humans have been able to defeat death and create a barrier keeping the 'barbarians' outside their dystopia. What not a utopia? Even though death is impossible, one of the rules of reality is that any time one expresses a negative thought, they AGE. Therefore, over time, the slide into a painfully depraved and bitter physical and mental existence comes about for all. Sean is the top-dog macho Barbarian who finds a way to get inside this bubbled creation. His job is to destroy the 'Tabernacle' and allow DEATH to resume its natural place in the flow of events. Connery is at his masculine and full-of-life best, and he manages to destroy this evil scheme. The barbarians DO enter and bring the wanted death to the tired-of-life 'victims' of the DEATH-KILLING old scientists. Sean gets to mate with a plethora of nubile babes and awaken new growth.

Think of Arnold as a BARBARIAN 'germ' who's likewise burst through the impotent bubble symbolized by the Camelot myth, with the Shrivers being an at-arms-length willing bunch that KNOWS they NEED the virile Barbarian, Schwarzenneger. He is the MUCH-REQUIRED MUTANT, and even those secularists, who pooh-pooh conventional religionists, can see the evolutionary possibilities, here. Too, contrast the unabashedly REAL way the oldly-wed couple related with the pre-programmed Al and Tipper Gore stage shows. I bet the Arnold phenomenon is just beginning, and we're about to find out he's a lot smarter than people assume. In other words, behind that will-powered body is an intellect that matches it---backed with at least the correct market-loving principles.

What's a Governor and a President good for?

Just as in Zardoz, DEATH of the growth of our big piggy, government is in dire need. Just as in the movie, the deleterious results of a super-over-weening 'MOTHER-GOVERNMENT' are painfully too obvious to ignore---hence the call for the BARBARIAN, Arnold, to bring it on! The simplicity of the moment is this---GOOD GOVERNANCE is a case on ON-GOING NAY SAYING! That is, the person who uses the power of Governor MUST VETO as much as possible. This is why GWB is such a huge disappointment to small government lovers. Maybe Arnie should rehabilitate Nancy Reagan by bringing her into his cabinent to put the pedal to the metal on a drive to JUST SAY NO to GOVERNMENT DRUGS!

What about Maria and her clan?

This may be the spit-kicker---over all the last years there's always a struggle concerning the 'BIG TENT'. Permeating CW is the JFK myth, with it being perhaps the background 'cosmic' radiation left over from those 'golden days' of so many liberal's youth. Imagine if Maria manages to parlay HER connection with ARNOLD, instead of the other way around, in the future. The Kennedy's could come back into glory, via the SHRIVERS, due to a REPUBLICAN! Wouldn't that be sweet to see? If the hard-core 'pornographers' of the socialistic LEFT-WING Democratic Party continue their power grab via Howard Dean, et al, it will be supremely sublime to witness their reactions to a rising power like Maria. Of course, she's a Democrat. But maybe she's ALSO a BARBARIAN, at heart, a mutant of the Kennedy strain, and over time will find a way to bend right.

BEHAVIOR MOD

Back to governing---it seems to me that the recall election will teach the political establishment a MUTANT lesson, as well. Just think, Republicans got 60% of the vote, in the state that supposedly leans heavily Democratic. How this happened and the special circumstances, but most key, how the new guv plays his hot hand, will cause an earthquake in the system. Remember TOUGH LOVE? Arnold must find a way to hold the line on taxes, and make people understand that this is FREEDOM IN ACTION.

DEFICITS really DO MATTER!

It dawned on me that there's a useful similarity between the present huge deficit of California and the one that came about when Reagan took control of the presidency. There is the economic reality and the political reality. As Milton Friedman taught us eons ago, it's the GOVERNMENT SPENDING, STUPID. How you finance it DOES NOT MATTER! As the US deficit grew in the 1980's, it served to keep the big spending LEFTIES from being able to waste even more money. So, in California, the essential action is to get the present budget into balance, ASAP, which can be more easily done with the $38 billion albatross that the LEFTIES forced on California citizen. Arnold should us it as a BARBARIAN'S best WEAPON, and cut to ribbons each one of the EXTANT LEFTIES in the legislature. It's time to also exhume the saying "There they go again!" whenever he's faced with a negotiation that fails to live within the budget.

FIRST THINGS FIRST.

Any up-to-speed business always knows its cash flow position and the needs in the future. IMHO the best way to approach the state government of California is as a bankrupt company. It doesn't take a genius to be governor in that situation. The state legislature in Texas has the correct idea---only meet a few months every couple of years. Hence, every day in office, all Arnold needs to do is VETO every new bill! Unless it cuts spending, but we know that's impossible. To save the patient, FIRST you stop the bleeding! Then, while on life-support, you patch up and repair other parts of the body that are oozing life away.

I guess we'll find out pretty quickly what the BARBARIAN will do, as soon as we discover who he chooses head up the money dimension.

Opposing KRUD

The Paul Krugman shooting star, for wrong-headed Left-wingers, is a black hole for all free humans, and for those too ignorant to understand his game. Thanks to Don Luskin for taking him on! He had a raw encounter with the leper, which was brilliantly written about on his blog, The conspiracytokeepyoupoorandstupid.com. I feel like putting in some free thoughts about IT-ALL.

As Don reported, it's the people who back people like Krugman who are the problem. I'm familiar with UC San Diego, and even went to UC Santa Barbara back in the days of riots and a bank burn-down. So, when he told about the way the crowd ate up the Princeton professor's BS, it brought back flashbacks and made me flush with guilt and time-gained understanding. Yes, those students who'd choose to come see the economics icon from the famous New York Times would doubtless express their ignorant enthusiasm---I can relate! And yet, remember all those students who DID NOT attend the event, and those who did who were unenthusiastic.

THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT!

Maybe the person to compare Krugman to is Castro. Just as so many Hollywood airheads get off on old Fidel, a lot of people want to experience being in the presence of someone evilly famous like Paulito. Yes, there will always be the 20% of the populous who fall for the siren call of men on black horses---when life has been so dumbed down and true religion is almost totally extinguished, it must become a matter of filling time to escape boredom, doubt and discomfort. Mustn't allow an instant of time, NO GAPS, for emptiness!

The big news is the California recall, today. Recall the huge brouhaha about the large number of candidates on the ballot, when the campaign was young? And now? No one mentions it, mostly, as the day of choice arrives. What a miracle! Why, the voters can be TRUSTED to be able to find their candidate's name, and choose it! The thing it reminded me of is the growth of TV stations. Not only that, but the concomitant acceleration of the action, led by the way commercials have changed---getting shorter and more filled with fast talk.

Here's an example from Kudlow's show, last night. He had John Fund and Lawrence O'Donnell to discuss the California recall. You could FEEL O'Donnell's desperation---like the cornered rat he is---which he expressed by impolitely interrupting Fund ay every chance possible, while Sir John NEVER did this to him. (Of course, there's a lot more going on than meets the CW eye, since Kudlow and O'Donnell have a lot of 'bad blooded' history from their days on the McLaughlin Group. You can be sure that Rat Lawrence is jealous as hell that Mr. Kudlow was able to escape the dung pile of that Groping Group and get his own show, albeit with Cramer, and be on PAID-FOR television five nights a week for four and a half hours.) So, just as there's definitely a MARKET for Krugman, there's one for Kudlow. In this marketplace of ideas, reality will probably have the final WORD.

PROBABLY?

The die-hard top dogs, like a Krugman, can be compared to the remnants of Saddam's regime. Think of them as just like those in the Soviet politburo around the time of Gorby. Just as Reagan came along and used a GOOD ATTITUDE to smash that evil parasitic system, maybe something like that is what's happening. Could it be that all the recent 'scandals' created out of HOLEY CLOTH by the LEFTIES are last gasps from a dying orthodoxy? Might it not be that---as I've written recently---the LEFTIES are fooling themselves, in exact proportion that they buy the disproportionate support they fan up from their rabid and ignorant base? Wouldn't it be a TRUE WONDER if, in the next year, America, and free men everywhere, survives the increasingly obnoxious bombs thrown by dying lefties? What if they are NOT ABLE to stop the increasing good news in Iraq, and this news becomes CW? Imagine if Israel takes out the Iranian nuclear plants, thus defanging that wicked dictatorship, FOREVER. Then, picture the US economy ALSO growing JOBS and productivity and PROFITS in tandem, so that by next year at this time ALL IS SWEET for the RIGHT and SOUR for the LEFT. Hey, if I were a LEFTIE, I'd be quite concerned! The PERFECT STORM?

The "Limbaugh" story

On the RIGHT side of the political fence perhaps the biggest deal is Rush's drug problem, still to be resolved. IMHO he's a closet Libertarian who consciously molded his public persona and what he claims to believe in order to achieve his high ambitions---money and fame: and he certainly succeeded beyond his wildest dreams. My bet is he thinks he's 'above the law' when it comes to sticking things in his mouth. For sure he's about as conventional as the majority of meat-eating Americans, believing fully in the drug system and the American system of medicine. Any clear-thinking listener of him must acknowledge that he's got to be a speed freak, relying of caffeine, at least, to keep him on top of his game. Think of him like the track and field athletes of today who are always seeking for performance-enhancing drugs that escape detection and bring big-bucks when they win by using them. Maybe we have another lesson in HUBRIS and IGNORANCE right before our EARS---if we are open enough to really listen.

ARNOLD'S day, week, month, years!

It seems like only yesterday when Arnie announced on Leno's show, at the same time as it seems like it's taken FOREVER for this election to finally happen. If he does win, it has the potential to radically reform ALL POLITICS, not just in the Golden State. Remember who he is---THE most famous and well-paid actor in the WORLD. He could well be the man to play the role of the Russian (his name escapes me!) who toppled the commies in 1991, standing atop a tank blasting the hold outs. Is Arnold flawed? Not really! Don't forget that all the PC sexual harassment changes are pretty recent, and the realm that Arnold moved in was very loose. I am tempered by the way Ventura blew it in Minnesota, so maybe the same will happen with Schwarzenegger, but he could surprise and BROW-BEAT those who brought California to its knees---the LEFTIES. A recent piece that showed the per capita debt for all those DEMOCRAT-GOVERNED states in big trouble cuts to the truth---each citizen in Calif owes about $1,000. This is GOOD NEWS! If only it were such a small percentage for the US debt! It's certainly manageable, despite all the fretting of economic retards---using the famous $38 BILLION figure, over and over again, may just backfire on the LEFTIES. The economical illiteracy in this country is immense, so if Arnold and friends can manage to deal with this current problem, why you could see a large swing in the party affiliation in Calif---why couldn't enough people wake up and switch so that parity, de minimus, is reached?

PARITY UNLEASHED

Writing of PARITY, here's something I've long wanted to say. As a very-long-time sports fan, I've lived through profound change on top of profound change. I recall over ten years ago the saying that parity had arrived in pro football. Well, this has now reached down to college and even some of high school. The quality of many more athletes is such that there are not enough positions for fine talents to play, so they must go to what used to be a loser team. It's that non-famous hoary math principle: The PIGEON-HOLE PRINCIPLE. I'm in my pigeon-toed hole, right now!
